Employeur

The university of Bordeaux is a great dynamic and responsible university that cares about the well-being of its staff. Joining us means working in a privileged environment within a particularly diverse and open professional community, benefiting from welcome and inclusion schemes, training and internal mobility. It means participating in an academic, scientific and human adventure. It means committing to meeting the challenges of the 21st century.

Join the Institute of Molecular Sciences (ISM)!

The ISM brings together a community of organic chemists and physico-chemists interested in molecular structures, working on their design, synthesis, characterization, reactivity and analysis in various environments. The expertise of the Institute is based on a number of key skills: theorists in quantum chemistry, molecular and reaction dynamics, synthetic chemists, physico-chemists (spectroscopy, photochemistry, molecular recognition and analysis), working in 10 research groups and 3 technical platforms.

As part of the Continuous Surveillance Beacon for Airborne Biological Threats – CATMOS project, funded by the National Research Agency (ANR) under the Emerging Infectious Diseases Priority Research Program and Equipment (PEPR), we are recruiting a Post-Doctoral researcher in electrochemistry F/H.

This project, led by the CEA-Leti of Grenoble proposes to develop an innovative multiplex sensor, reusable, based on aptamer probes and reading by ElectroChimiLuminescence (ECL), allowing the simultaneous collection and detection of pathogens in the air.

Votre mission

In this context, you will be integrated into the Nano Analytical Systems NSYSA team which participates in the consortium by developing electrochemical methods for the detection of aerosol viruses. You will be placed under the supervision of Laurent BOUFFIER, responsible for the ISM partner in this project.

Your role will be to develop analytical methods for the detection of viral particles by electrochemiluminescence (ECL).

You will conduct the experimental campaigns, analyze the results and draft the associated experimental protocols.

# Development of electrochemical sensors

•        You validate the experimental approach and development of electrochemical sensors

•        You carry out the recording of electrochemical and optical signals, processing analytical data

•        You will present the work at meetings, seminars, and/or conferences

You will co-write reports and/or publications related to this research work.

Vos atouts / Vos talents

Holder of a PhD in Chemistry-Physics, Analytical Chemistry and/or Electrochemistry, you must have knowledge and experience in the main electrochemical techniques: cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and pulsed techniques.

Knowledge of the ECL would be an added value but is not mandatory since the host team can guarantee internal training. However, prior experience in the coupling (in-situ or operando) between electrochemistry and optical techniques would be an asset.

•        You are autonomous and rigorous in your experimental work

•        You show initiative during the project

•        You know how to work in a multidisciplinary team.

•        Provisions for optics and/or light microscopy are appreciated.

•        Experience in collaborative research environments and interdisciplinary projects will be particularly valued

More information:

By joining this position, you will work within a consortium led by the CEA-Leti of Grenoble, with the VirPath team (CIRI), laboratory associated with the WHO, the MIRCen teams (CEA), and CBAN (Pasteur). The goal will be to develop aptamers for the capture of respiratory syncytial virus, an influenza A/H3N2 virus and the SARS-CoV-2 Xbb1.5 variant; these reagents will be labeled for ultra-sensitive detection based on ECL.

Based in Talence, Gironde, FRANCE – access by tramway line B (stop « Peixotto ») buses, bike. The laboratory is near the city-centre of Bordeaux and about 60 Km of the Atlantic coasts.

Specific requirements: You’ll have to comply with the Working Laws in France

NB: the position is based in a laboratory in the Restrictive Zone, which requires an investigation prior to hiring, which can take up to 8 weeks. This position is located in an area covered by the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST) and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival be authorised by the competent authority of the Ministry.

12-month fixed-term contract starting in December 2026 preferably

Gross monthly salary: from 2750 € to 3000€ according to salary grid
