The University of Bordeaux is a large, dynamic, and responsible university, attentive to the well-being of its staff. Joining it means working in a privileged environment within a particularly diverse and open professional community, benefiting from welcome and inclusion programs, training, and internal mobility opportunities. It’s about participating in an academic, scientific, and human adventure. It’s about committing to tackling the challenges of the 21st century.
This postdoctoral project is part of the ANR GenoMorph project (https://anr.fr/Projet-ANR-20-CE12-0018) led by Dr. Clément Zanolli. The work will be carried out entirely at the PACEA Laboratory (UMR 5199) of the University of Bordeaux, within the EVODIBIO team. The researcher will benefit from a suitable working environment, will have access to a dedicated workstation for their work, and will be able to exchange ideas and collaborate with specialists from various disciplines, including (paleo)genetics, paleoanthropology, and archaeology.
he research work will consist of analyzing the DNA of several hundred humans for whom CBCT scans of their teeth are available. The postdoctoral researcher will therefore be responsible for genetic analysis (including selection, sorting, and elaboration of a genetic database) and will collaborate with other researchers involved in this project to combine molecular and morphometric data.
Main activities: The main tasks will consist of:
processing and analyzing genetic data from hundreds of individuals who volunteered to participate in the GenoMorph project.
Identifying candidate genes related to dental morphology and structure
methodological development for the combined analysis of genetic and morphometric data
genotype inferences based on the phenotype of specimens from the paleoanthropological record
processing and analysis of data from scans (optional : Depending on the experience and skills of the person recruited, they may be required to process and analyse 3D data from scans.)
