The University of Bordeaux is a great dynamic and responsible university that cares about the well-being of its staff. Joining us means working in a privileged environment within a particularly diverse and open professional community, benefiting from welcome and inclusion schemes, training and internal mobility. It means participating in an academic, scientific and human adventure. It means committing to meeting the challenges of the 21st century.
Join the Centre de Résonance Magnétique des Systèmes Biologiques (CRMSB) – of the University of Bordeaux!
This mixed research unit develops research themes in the field of MRI methodology and instrumentation, as well as in the field of Biomedical Imaging applications. The laboratory has developed many interactions with research teams specialized in the fields of oncology, cardiology, tissue engineering, or neuroscience.
As part of the ExoLactaBrain project, funded by the National Research Agency, we are recruiting a Post-Doctoral Researcher W/M whose work will focus on the Post-doctoral researcher on the study of the impact of physical exercise on cognition.
The project is part of the study of the metabolism of the central nervous system (CNS) and the metabolic cooperation between astrocytes and neurons. It aims to show if the lactate produced by muscles during physical exercise can impact cognition.
Your mission will consist in the implementation of physical exercise experiments (treadmill) on rats and kinetic measurements of lactatemia, glycaemia and ketonemia. You will carry out behavioral experiments with longitudinal follow-up and proceed to the acquisition of functional MRI, image processing, and NMR spectroscopy acquisition with spectrum processing.
• You train the animals on a treadmill and measure up to 80% physical activity on each rodent
• You carry out the longitudinal follow-up
o by functional MRI and SRM
o by different behavior tests
• You take kinetic measurements of blood sugar, lactatemia, and ketonemia
• You process and format the results, notably by writing articles in English
• You present your results in meetings/congresses
Holder of a PhD in Neurosciences, Medical imaging or in connection with physical exercises applied to neuroscience, you have proven experience in the field of MRI and a very good level of knowledge in metabolism.
Autonomous on your work and scientific approach, you’re willing to work in close collaboration with a team
• You have a certification in Animal Experimentation (applicator or experimenter) and have knowledge on the physiology of rodent physical exercise
• You master motor and cognitive behavior tests
• You know how to use the Prism software
• You master English (oral, written) in a multicultural work context (C1/B2 level)
Do you recognize yourself? Apply!
