The University of Bordeaux is a great dynamic and responsible university that cares about the well-being of its staff. Joining us means working in a privileged environment within a particularly diverse and open professional community, benefiting from welcome and inclusion schemes, training and internal mobility. It means participating in an academic, scientific and human adventure. It means committing to meeting the challenges of the 21st century.
Join the Centre de Résonance Magnétique des Systèmes Biologiques (CRMSB) – of the University of Bordeaux!
This mixed research unit develops research themes in the field of MRI methodology and instrumentation, as well as in the field of Biomedical Imaging applications. The laboratory has developed many interactions with research teams specialized in the fields of oncology, cardiology, tissue engineering, or neuroscience.
As part of the REACH project, we are recruiting a Post-Doctoral Researcher W/M whose work will focus on the development of an MRI.
This industrial project funded by the BPI aims to build a low-field MRI demonstrator. The project also involves Chipiron. The objective is to bring to market an MRI instrument using a SQUID system to increase the detection sensitivity at low field (10 mT).
The aim of the research work is to achieve operability of a new low-field magnetic resonance imaging instrument.
This instrument consists of a magnet generating a 10 mT induction, magnetic induction gradients, a radio frequency chain in the 10 kHz-1MHz range (transmission and reception) and a sequencer.
You mission will consist in being responsible for the implementation of acquisition protocols, noticeably for clinical imaging, in order to achieve the best possible image quality in short time. The work will be carried out in close cooperation with another recruited people specialized in instrumentation / electronics.
· NMR/MRI acquisition sequences: implementation, optimization of standard sequences and innovation at very low field, with a focus on acceleration procedures and signal-to noise
· Post-processing: denoising, reconstruction algorithms
· Comparison with high-field MRI: deep-learning and other AI modalities for low-field MRI optimization
· Close cooperation with an electronics expert: synergic implementation of MRI acquisition protocols
· Close interaction with Chipiron to facilitate the emergence of new product solutions and their future commercialization
Safety conditions will be met in accordance with current standards. The unit has a health and safety policy and a health and safety correspondent. Dedicated training will be provided on arrival at the laboratory. No major risks are associated with the research activity.
Holder of a PhD in Physics, Physical Chemistry or Imaging, you have acquired expertise in MRI sequence programming.
· Autonomous on your work and scientific approach, you’re willing to work in close collaboration with a team
· MRI acquisition on standard/prototype MRI systems
· Raw data processing
· Post-processing, knowledge in AI is welcome
· Informal electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
· Fluency in English, particularly in oral communication
· Basic knowledge of magnetic resonance will be highly appreciated
