The University of Bordeaux is a great dynamic and responsible university that cares about the well-being of its staff. Joining us means working in a privileged environment within a particularly diverse and open professional community, benefiting from welcome and inclusion schemes, training and internal mobility. It means participating in an academic, scientific and human adventure. It means committing to meeting the challenges of the 21st century.
Join the Institute of Cardiac Rhythm Diseases (IHU Liryc), from the University of Bordeaux!
This IHU is invested with a quadruple mission of research, care, innovation and teaching, at the service of the patient. It aims to better understand and treat electrical dysfunctions of the heart that are the cause of many cardiovascular diseases representing nearly a third of deaths worldwide.
As part of the 5D Ultrafast-HCM project, funded by the European Research Council, we are recruiting a Post-Doctoral Researcher W/M in ultrasound and ultra-fast 3D imaging W/M.
This project, in close collaboration with the university horspital of Bordeaux, aims to improve the diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. In young patients, from birth to under 30 years old, it is a major cause of sudden cardiac death: 8,000 young Europeans are victims each year without warning signs.
Your mission will include the following 4 components:
# Control of the 3D ultrasonic ultrafast imaging system
• You drive the Verasonics 256 Vantage NXT system connected to a 3MHz multiplexed matrix probe Verasonics UTA 1024-MUX Adapter
• You develop and implement Matlab sequences for data collection with a matrix probe that will allow human acquisition in transthoracic
# Software development for automated post-processing of ultrasound data acquired during projects
• You develop new software to improve and optimize the post-processing of acquired ultrasound data
• You automate the post-processing of shear wave velocities and microperfusion
# Integration and analysis of data extracted by AI programs
• You propose the development of artificial intelligence tools (machine learning) allowing optimized analysis of the data collected during this study
• You develop and integrate AI tools for post-processing 5D ultrasound data
# Participation in research and dissemination programs
• You actively participate in data acquisitions, both at the IHU and at the CHU de Bordeaux, in partnership with the doctors of our team
• You carry out the post-processing of data on Matlab
• You contribute to the dissemination of results
Holder of a PhD in Science, you have proven experience in medical imaging and/or acoustic physics with a strong programming dimension on ultrasound systems.
• You are autonomous in your activities and rigorous in your work
• You demonstrate excellent analytical skills
• You are efficient in programming on Matlab
• You know the field of acoustic imaging (ultrasound)
• You like working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team
An already acquired experience in programming an ultrasound system with a matrix probe would be more valuable for recruitment. Specific training could be prioritized during the first month of the contract to acquire a specific skill in AI.
