The 2024–2025 season has come to an end for athletes from the University of Bordeaux, with 91 medals in the French University Championships, including:

  • 27 French university championship titles
  • 27 silver medals
  • 37 bronze medals

Among the most successful disciplines are athletics (17 medals), judo (11 medals), wrestling/sambo (11 medals), fencing (10 medals), surfing (9 medals) and badminton (7 medals).

These figures reflect a consistent level of commitment and performance, even though the context has recently changed. University sport is becoming more competitive at national level, and ASUBx must now choose its priorities.

Collective titles that leave a lasting impression

Two titles in team sports illustrate this dynamic:

  • The women's 11-a-side football team, French university champions
  • The ultimate team (a team sport played with a frisbee), also title holders

These achievements highlight the quality of the training provided at the University of Bordeaux, in partnership with high-level clubs and organisations in the Gironde region.

A new era for ASUBx

With seven titles for best university association in France won in recent years, and even a European title, ASUBx has long dominated French university sport. Today, a new era is dawning. The new steering committee, supported by sports advisors and students, is fully committed to maintaining a high level of performance while adapting to current realities.

Support for athletes remains a priority. At the University of Bordeaux, the dual academic and sporting project remains central. It continues to enhance the university's appeal and enables students to flourish in all areas.

An upcoming European season

The season doesn't end here: three teams will represent the University of Bordeaux at the European University Championships this summer:

  • Men's basketball in Bologna (Italy), 6-13 July
  • Women's rugby sevens in Ankara (Turkey), 21-24 July
  • Mixed judo in Warsaw (Poland), 22-25 August

Our sporting results are good, but it remains to be seen whether they will be enough to land us on the podium at the end of the year.
