Institute of Education

Updated on:

The Institute of Education (INSPE), formerly known as ESPE, was renamed on 1st September 2019 by the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

The INSPE works alongside the Nouvelle Aquitaine universities and school system (Bordeaux Education Authority, DSDEN, primary and secondary schools, etc.) to train students in Master programmes who want to become primary or secondary teachers and chief education advisers. INSPE also provides support to undergraduate students (Bachelor year 2 and year 3) and Master year 1 students who are enrolled in the EAP (Emploi d'avenir professeur) programme.

In addition, the institute trains students and educational staff who are interested in specialising in educational engineering professions.
Lastly, INSPE offers specific training to tenured teachers, enabling them to develop their IT skills (C2i2e), or to specialise in teaching students with disabilities (CAPASH programme).
