Rent, utilities, food, books, going out... For many students, even before the question of university enrolment arises, the question of financing their studies is what poses a problem. Solutions are available and social workers are there to help you.

Support centres

The social workers at the Student Health Centre or CROUS, who are bound by professional secrecy, are there to listen, welcome and support students who encounter problems during their studies.

They provide information on various forms of assistance available in the event of financial, family or material hardship.

The Law Clinic

Inspired by Law clinics in American universities, the Clinique du Droit offers free legal information and aid to all.

University of Bordeaux law students, student lawyers and legal auditors are available by appointment depending the type of questions.

Students can also get advice related to student life: consumer law, criminal law, social law and immigration law, etc.

Different types of aid

  • Aid granted by the University of Bordeaux

    After your administrative registration and depending on your situation, you can apply for social assistance and/or exemption from tuition fees.

  • Other sources of assistance

    Scholarships based on financial need, mobility grants, emergency grants... Various sources of aid outside the university are available to help you to pursue your studies in good conditions.

  • Food and dining

    There are lots of on-campus possibilities for lunch and even dinner. Solutions for students struggling with food insecurity are also available.
