Learn a foreign language

Updated on:

The University of Bordeaux offers a wide, varied range of modern languages. Whatever you are studying, you will have to take a foreign language course. However, you are free to learn and practise other languages, either as an elective course, or for your own self-improvement.

Before going abroad or simply to improve your language skills, the university's language centres are there to help you make progress in a foreign language throughout your training or degree programme.

They provide:

  • preparation for certificates, such as: TOEIC, Cambridge, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.
Resources are available to help you practise for the exams. The Language Centre teams will guide you towards the most appropriate certifications based on your objectives.
  • training courses in English, Spanish, German, Italian, etc.
  • guided self-study.
  • conversation workshops in English and Spanish.
