Dominique Rebière, Vice-President for Business and Industry Relations

Updated on:

Dominique Rebière, Professor of Electronics and former Regional Academic Delegate for Research and Innovation for Nouvelle-Aquitaine, has been appointed Vice-President for Business and Industry Relations at the University of Bordeaux by President Dean Lewis with effect from 9 February 2026.

Appointed Senior Lecturer in the Physical Measurements Department in 1993, he became a professor in the Electronic Engineering and Industrial Computing Department of the University of Bordeaux’s IUT in 2004. From 2009 to 2013, he was head of this department. He teaches electronics, microelectronics and microsystems.

Dominique Rebière is also a researcher at the IMS (Integration from Material to system). His research concerns the study of microsystems for detecting chemical and biological compounds and has led to numerous research contracts and agreements, the result of close ties with the world of industry in a number of different fields, including the wine, environmental, defence, fine chemicals and healthcare sectors.

In 2013, he was appointed Delegate to the Regional Research and Technology Office (DDRT) for the Aquitaine region. In 2016, following the regional reform, his role was expanded to that of Delegate for Nouvelle-Aquitaine under the authority of the Secretary General for Regional Affairs and the Prefect of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. In 2021, the DDRTs became Regional Academic Research and Innovation Offices (DRARI), and Dominique Rebière took up the position of Regional Delegate, again for Nouvelle-Aquitaine, a role that involves, under the authority of the Rector of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Academic Region and the Prefect of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region within the Nouvelle-Aquitaine territory, implementing the policy of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI) in the areas of research, technology, innovation, and scientific and technical culture.

Drawing on his extensive knowledge of the region and its economic and industrial stakeholders, as well as the tools and initiatives supported by the State, his expertise in innovation and his commitment to the University of Bordeaux, Dominique Rebière will succeed Eric Papon as Project Manager for Industrial and Socio-Economic Sectors in March 2025 before becoming Vice-President for Business and Industry Relations during Dean Lewis’s new term as President.

I wish to use my skills and regional experience in implementing public policies in the field of innovation to aid the University of Bordeaux’s development and to position the institution as a key stakeholder and partner in the development of industrial and socio-economic sectors.
