Yamina Meziani: Gender parity, equality and diversity mission officer

Yamina Meziani holds a Master degree in sociology of inequalities from the University of Bordeaux. She continued her studies with a doctorate in sociology at the University of Bordeaux (co-supervised by the Department of Political Science at the University of Amsterdam). Passionate about social phenomena, she is particularly interested in research on equality, meritocracy and social justice. 
After a post-doctorate in sociology of law, Yamina Meziani is now pursuing her scientific research on the implementation of equality policies with another post-doctorate on recruiting youth for the labour market. To get an insider's view of the implementation of public action plans, from 2016 to 2019, Yamina Meziani worked as a consultant-trainer with leaders in the private and public sector on the national level. She carried out missions that allowed her to develop expertise in social innovation.

In December 2020, she was recruited as a lecturer at the University of Bordeaux, where she teaches political sociology to STAPS students (in French). She is also researching systemic discrimination at the European level, and is responsible for the France Campus 2023 programme (in French) for University Diplomas (DU) and Bachelors in the context of the 2023 Rugby World Cup. In addition to her university activities, Yamina Meziani is a professional dancer (contemporary dance).

She was appointed as mission officer for Ggender parity, equality and diversity on 22^nd February 2022 on the recommendation of Dean Lewis, President of the University of Bordeaux.
