Computer Science Faculty

Updated on:

The University of Bordeaux Computer Science Faculty (UF) has approximately 70 lecturer-researchers, all from the Bordeaux Computer Science Research Laboratory (LaBRI).

The programme curriculum offers students a wide variety of careers in computer science. The skills of graduates range from applied areas of computer science (software engineering, networks, information visualisation, multimedia, video analysis and indexing, image, virtual reality, etc.) to more theoretical fields (algorithms, combinatorics, cryptology, formal methods, etc.).

Trained at the Master degree level, students are both equipped for today's IT engineering jobs as well as capable of adapting to the constantly-evolving field.

Diplomas from the Computer Science Faculty are recognised by many companies through collaboration on various research projects and/or via expertise and auditing contracts.

Corporations and SMEs/SMBs both offer end-of-study internships to students and hire graduates.

For those who wish to embark on a research career, the Initiation to research programme, which starts at the Bachelor degree level via internships of excellence and continues through the Master degree, allows students to apply for doctoral theses in computer science with the LaBRI and in other research laboratories in France and abroad.
